Direct-fired and catalytic thermal oxidizers incinerate roaster exhaust at fourteen hundred and fifty degrees to achieve municipal air quality compliance.
Future Coffee Corporation designs and builds industrial afterburner systems in Reno, Nevada for commercial coffee roasting operations facing strict EPA and county air pollution control district permits. As coffee beans enter first and second crack, the pyrolytic decomposition of cellulose releases dense particulate matter, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and acrid roasting aldehydes into the airstream. Our thermal oxidizers incinerate roaster effluent at an operational baseline of 1,450°F (788°C) with a minimum 0.5-second retention dwell, converting 99.2% of hydrocarbon smoke and odors into carbon dioxide and clean water vapor before exhaust reaches the outdoor atmosphere.
Commercial afterburner systems are priced from twelve thousand five hundred to thirty-four thousand dollars based on roaster exhaust CFM.
The investment required for a commercial coffee roaster thermal oxidizer depends directly on total exhaust airflow CFM, fuel source (natural gas or liquid propane), and whether your local air quality permit permits catalytic low-temp cores or mandates high-temp direct thermal oxidation. Sizing an afterburner too small causes backpressure that chokes drum airflow, stalling roasts and risking drum fires; sizing too large burns unnecessary fuel. Standalone afterburners start at 12,500 USD for 350 CFM units matching 6 kg to 15 kg roasters and reach 34,000 USD for 2,200 CFM industrial plant systems. For turnkey operations, afterburners come factory-matched inside our 14,900 to 150,000 USD commercial packages.
Sized for 6kg to 15kg commercial drum roasters; ceramic fiber blanket insulation, 250,000 to 450,000 BTU/hr burner, and UL-listed flame controller.
Engineered for 30kg and 60kg production plants; hard refractory cast lining, 1,200,000 BTU/hr modulation, and dual thermocouple emissions logging.
Included as standard in our 30kg and 60kg turnkey roasting suites alongside drum roaster, chaff cyclone, and agitated cooling table.

Ivan Petrov has engineered combustion chambers and emissions compliance permits in Nevada since 2019.
Master Roaster Ivan Petrov has steered commercial coffee installations through municipal environmental permitting, Washoe County Air Quality reviews, and regional EPA Title V threshold evaluations. Roasters frequently purchase imported roaster machines only to discover their city building department will not issue an occupancy permit without a certified thermal oxidizer. Ivan engineers every Future Coffee Corporation afterburner with heavy-gauge stainless steel outer shell construction, high-density 2,300°F ceramic refractory insulation, and automated purge cycles that satisfy NFPA 86 industrial furnace safety standards.
We equip every afterburner with Honeywell or Maxon modulating burners, ultraviolet flame scanners, and solid-state PID temperature controllers. If drum exhaust temperature drops or roaster airflow surges during a dark roast discharge, the burner valve modulates fuel input in real time to hold the core chamber at 1,450°F without dropping. Future Coffee Corporation will not use uninsulated single-wall metal stovepipes that overheat surrounding building structures or fail during sustained roasting shifts.
Our Nevada engineering facility delivers and commissions thermal oxidizers through four certified project milestones.
Air Permit & CFM Calculation
We evaluate your city or county emissions limits, roaster exhaust CFM, static backpressure, and available gas service pressure.
Refractory Casting & Shell Fab
The combustion chamber is formed from 304 stainless steel and lined with castable high-alumina refractory cement in Reno.
Burner Rigging & Factory Fire
The burner train is fired to 1,500°F on our test rig to verify flame safeguard lockout times and draft balance.
Delivery, Duct Pack & Signoff
The crated afterburner is shipped nationwide with full mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and air permit paperwork.
We build heavy industrial thermal oxidizers rather than uncertified residential chimney attachments.
Future Coffee Corporation does not sell light-duty electrostatic precipitators or consumer kitchen smoke scrubbers that clog with sticky coffee oils after ten hours of operation. Our afterburners are heavy industrial thermal oxidizers requiring commercial gas lines (minimum 7 inches water column natural gas or 11 inches WC propane) and dedicated 208V or 240V power. If you operate in a location where gas utility is unavailable or your weekly roast volume is under twenty pounds, our afterburners are not designed for your setup.

Our engineering staff will calculate required burner BTU, chamber volume, and duct transitions to ensure your installation passes building inspection on the first inspection.
